Tokyo 2020

When With One Voice was hosted by Streetwise Opera, there had already been a programme in place for a number of years working with projects in Japan through the British Council particularly with Cocoroom in Osaka.

We put created the first arts and homelessness review of the Japan in 2019 and an exchange in Tokyo and Osaka between projects in the UK and Japan. This included a collaboration between the Manchester Street Poem and Advocacy Research Centre for Homelessness in Tokyo (see film below). The Cultural Olympiad was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID but worked on projects and exchanges including a collaboration between the dance company Sokerissa in Tokyo and Coventry City of Culture 2021.
