We were invited to repeat the London 2012 With One Voice in Rio for 2016. Instead of just an event, the sector wanted to build the capacity of arts and homelessness projects in the city so we embarked on a six-year project to establish choirs with People’s Palace Projects (the Uma so Voz choirs which are still operating today) and share practice with the international sector. Rio 2016 was marked by the Uma So Voz choirs performing at the lighting of the Olympic torch and hosting 40 events during the Cultural Olympiad with arts and homelessness groups from 9 countries.
