Wakujuu Arts

Wajukuu is an artist’s run project based in Nairobi Kenya located at [mukuru slum].the group was started by youth under their initiative. These were raised up when artist who live within the community realized their challenge which was common for them as artist in the community. By using art as their main tool to approach, the group has been able to grow as team and also develop some life skills and helped kids on valuing themselves and create self-esteem among the kids. This has been effective also to parents who now are supporting what we do with their kids. Some have been trying to use art as tool to approach day to day life and challenges they face in daily life experiences. The group has been arranging and involved in major workshops trying to reach families by using art as an activity which can make them freely share their inner world and find solution among themselves.
