Geidai Power Creation Initiative–Only One Global Strategy.
The Tokyo University of the Arts, located in the Ueno Gardens area, aims to utilize the potential of the cultural facilities and assets to develop the “New Plan for Ueno Cultural Gardens” initiative, under development with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Under the plan, the university will lead efforts to transform the Ueno Gardens area into an “International City of Scholarship” based on a cultural program model. The university will prompt continuous development toward the establishment of an International Center of Art and Culture, and aims to create an array of cultural resources, through collaboration with organizations such as the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, contributing to a network of art and culture for the international city of Tokyo.
