Arts & Homelessness International

Our new model, in development of a more equitable international network

Power and opportunity are not equally spread across our network – there is more funding and therefore more projects in the Global North. At the same time, many of the most effective methodologies in co-creation and social impact began in the Global South. We want to share power, opportunity and knowledge by changing the way the arts and homelessness network operates. Instead of a UK ‘hub’ which the network feeds in and out of, we want to spread that to a ‘hive’ of hubs around the world. We have been working with the British Council and Gulbenkian Foundation to create this vision of 3-5 hubs spread across the Global North and South, each developing and serving their local region. The three-phase project involves mapping the sector (phase 1) and investing in NGOs globally (phase 2) before identifying the hubs (phase 3). Phase 1 has been completed with the publishing of a report on arts and homelessness in the Global South written by 3 incredible researchers, Aileen Fry, Chloe Villalobos Yvette Waweru.
