Following a 3-year grant from Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, we are delivering 9 Legislative Theatre Projects around the UK between now and March 2028.
The projects will seek to enable people with lived experience/at risk of homelessness to help co-create policies which affect them, putting the power in their hands. We are seeking legislative bodies which create homelessness prevention and support policies and rules – such as councils, Integrated Care Boards, orgs in the criminal justice and care systems – to sign up to one of these free projects.
This project follows a track record of 3 years of successful Legislative Theatre projects across the UK working with local councils and other partners in Northern Ireland, Medway, Coventry and Haringey to co-create new homelessness prevention and support policies. Read about them here.
We are now inviting councils and other legislative bodies to sign up to partnering with us on one of these unique projects. Unlike previous work, this new round of projects is condensed and will follow a shorter timeline. We will work closely with each partner organisation to co-design a timeline that ensures the process remains meaningful, inclusive, and achievable for all involved.
AHI’s delivery team is fully funded, and the project budget includes facilitation and participation payments for up to four people with lived experience. In addition, AHI will cover all travel and accommodation costs for our team. The councils and partners needs to provide some space and personnel which you can read about here in the project brief below.
